My goal is simple: contribute practical content that helps security leaders, architects, and practitioners build stronger identity programs and advance the industry.

I’ve spent more than 25 years working across identity and cybersecurity, from engineering and architecture to executive leadership. Throughout that time, I’ve seen the same fundamental challenges repeat themselves—identity silos, disconnected applications, governance gaps, and organizations struggling to keep pace with how quickly technology evolves. While the tools continue to change, the underlying identity problems often remain the same.

Outside of StackBob, I’m passionate about helping shape where the identity industry is headed. Through this blog, speaking engagements, and research, I focus on topics including modern Identity Governance, Workforce Identity Fabrics, Non-Human Identity, AI governance, identity architecture, and the strategic role identity plays in enterprise security. I believe identity is no longer just an IT function—it has become the control plane for modern organizations.

One idea you’ll see throughout this site is the concept of the Chief Identity Officer. While the title is still emerging, I believe every organization needs executive ownership of identity strategy. As businesses become increasingly cloud-native, AI-driven, and interconnected, identity is becoming one of the most important business and security disciplines. Every organization needs someone responsible for steering that strategy—not simply managing technology, but leading identity as a business capability.
